Body Sculpting at Home

I realize that most of us are pressed for time nowadays with our priorities and our responsibilites, but of these priorities, shouldn't our personal health be up front?  Think about it, without our health, we wouldn't have much anyways.

So, for those of you who are looking to get a full-body body sculpting routine at home, here are some exercises that I incorporate on days when I am not able to hit the local gym!

First, I of course do some mild stretches.  Seeing how I am going to be working my whole body, I will do at least one stretch for each major muscle group.

All of these exercises by the way are done with just your own bodyweight.

Too start off, I will perform some form of a squat.  Squats will work your entire upper thigh area as well as your glutes.  Then, I will lie on the floor and do some floor bridges, again targeting the gluteus muscles.  Next come some form of calf raises.

To hit the core section of your body, be sure to include at least one exercise for each general area of your abdomen and obliques.  I lie on a towel on the floor and begin by performing a series of butterfly kicks which will hit my lower abdomen region.  I then tie in some reverse crunches.  From here, I go directly in bicycle crunches in order to target my obliques.  And finally, I finish off with some standard floor crunches.

In order to hit parts of my upper body,  all I do are push-ups and variations of the push-up, for my chest and triceps.  To get your back, you generally will need some sort of pole to perform pull-ups and/or chin-ups.  If you don't have a pole or a bar that you can place in a doorway, then that's okay!  Remember, this is just to supplement those off days when you cannot get intot the gym.

So, that pretty much rounds out the at-home full-body workout.  It works for me, hopefully it will work for you too!  Thanx, and happy exercising!
